Subject : – Singing , Essay writing and Debating Competition in run up to the Independence Day Celebrations on 15th of August , 2022 , as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav ( AKAM ) .
The undersigned is directed to convey that the Lieutenant Governor in the meeting held on 19th of July , 2022 directed for holding singing , essay writing and debating competitions at School Level and College Level in run up to the Independence Day Celebrations on 15th of August , 2022 , as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav .
Accordingly , I am directed to convey following instructions as approved by the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor for adherence by the concerned :
- Two competitions shall be held , one at School Level and other at College Level , which will culminate into a Divisional Level Competition , amongst the winners of District Level competitions .
- Since the Academy of Art , Culture and Languages does not have district level setup , therefore School level competitions shall be organized by School Education Department through its Directorates and College Level competitions shall be organized by the Higher Education Department under the overall supervision of Director Colleges . The prize money shall be provided by the Department of Culture through J & K Academy of Art Culture and Languages .
- Divisional Level competitions will be held in both the divisions amongst the winners of District Level competitions , taken together under School Level and College Level category at Srinagar and Jammu .
- There will be six winners at District Level competitions , three each from the School Level competition and College Level Compet competition , who will participate at Divisional Levelcompetition . The Divisional Level competition shall be held jointly amongst the winners of School Level and College Level competitions , with total participation of 60 candidates in all the three categories ( Singing , Essay writing and Debating ) and winners will be declared among the participants in each stream . Competitions at Divisional Level shall be driven by the Secretary , J & K Academy of Art , Culture and Languages under overall supervision of the Divisional Commissioner’s of the respective Division .
- The competition will be held from 1st August to 10th August 2022 , concurrently , in both the divisions .

The prizes shall be as under
A. District Level Competitions :
i ) Schools Level One Winner in Singing -Rs 5000
One Runner up in Singing -Rs 3000
One Winner in Essay writing -Rs 5000
One Runner up in Essay writing -Rs 3000
One Winner in Debating -Rs 5000
One Runner up Debating -Rs 3000
ii ) College level
One Winner in Singing -Rs 5000
One Runner up in singing -Rs 3000
One Winner in Essay writing -Rs 5000
One Runner up in Essay writing -Rs 3000
One Winner in Debating -Rs 5000
One Runner up Debating -Rs 3000
B. Divisional Level Competitions ( Jammu / Srinagar )
One Winner in singing Rs . 30000
One Runner up in singing -Rs 20000
One Winner in Essay writing -Rs 30000
One Runner up in Essay writing -Rs 20000
One Winner in Debating -Rs 50000
One Runner up Debating -Rs 20000
- The Prizes at District Level competitions shall be given to winners by the concerned Deputy Commissioners and at Divisional Level by the respective Divisional Commissioners .
- The winners of the Divisional Level shall be invited by the Divisional Administration to main venue of Independence Day Celebrations at Srinagar and Jammu .

The Directorate of Information , J & K shall give wide publicity to these competitions on print , electronic and social media , by roping in their manpower at District and Divisional Levels .
